John C. Smith, passed away Wednesday October 1, 2008 in Nocona, Texas. Services will be held Friday 1 pm, October 3, 2008 at the Nocona Church of Christ with Dale Scott officiating; Burial will be in the Montague Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 pm

John was born February 28, 1925 in Saint Jo, Texas to Katie Mae Tisdel and Neal B. Smith. John was a member of the Nocona Church of Christ. John he served for 3 years in the Navy and received the Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, and the Asiatic - Pacific Campaign Medal. John had been a member of the Jaycees and Masons. He was retired from Dunagan Tool & Supply, after working for 18 years. John was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Sybil. John is survived by daughter Pat Harrington & husband Donald of Midland, TX, Son Larry Smith & wife Rita of Lakeside City, Tx, Four grandchildren; Ben, Brian, Derrick and Andrea.
